Podcast crew

I'm starting a podcast for Beyond What Meets the Eye, my disability advocacy channel, and I'm looking for people who know how a podcast runs. Every role can be done from home.

These are volunteer roles. What that means

What I'm working toward

I'm starting a podcast for Beyond What Meets the Eye, my disability advocacy channel. Here's what I'm working toward.

  1. Launch the podcast

Plan, record, and release a first season.

  2. Accessible from day one

Captions and a full transcript for every episode, so Deaf and hard-of-hearing listeners never miss a thing.

  3. Honest conversations

Episodes where I share my own experiences, plus conversations with other disabled creators and advocates.

  4. Easy to find

Full episodes on YouTube, audio on podcast apps, and short clips on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

  5. A steady schedule

A few episodes recorded ahead before launch, so there's never a rush.

  6. Guests who feel looked after

Prepared questions, clear communication, and recordings kept private until an episode is published.

Roles

  • Producer

Plan episodes, keep the schedule, and handle the details so I can focus on hosting.

  • Audio and video editing

Clean up recordings and put each finished episode together for YouTube and podcast apps.

  • Transcripts and captions

Make every episode accessible with accurate captions and a full transcript.

  • Guest booking and research

Find guests, reach out to them, and prepare questions with me.

  • Clips and social media

Turn each episode into short clips for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

How it works

  • All roles are remote. Recording sessions are planned ahead at times that work for everyone involved.
  • You're credited by name or handle in every episode you work on.
  • Before you start, we both sign a short agreement covering credit and how your work can be used.
  • Guests often share personal stories, so recordings stay private until an episode is published.
  • You can step away at any time.
  • Podcast crew members need to be 18 or older.

How to join

Email the role you're interested in, a little about yourself, and links to any podcast or audio work you've done. Please confirm you're 18 or older.
